Today I want to talk about sex slavery (human trafficking).  There are approximately 3 million women and girls worldwide who are victims of sex slavery. The governments of all of the countries, including the United States of America know that women and children being sold every day and yet very little is done to stop it.  The writers of Half the Sky put it this way, “People get away with enslaving village girls for the same reason that people got away with enslaving blacks 200 years ago: the victims are perceived as discounted humans. India had delegated an intelligence officer to look for pirated goods because it knew that the United States cares about intellectual property. When India feels that the West cares as much about slavery as it does about pirated DVD’s it will dispatch people to the borders to stop traffickers”.
